Cash stolen from Village Hardware

ADRIAN—The Upshur County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a break-in at Village Hardware that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Around 2 a.m., a white male wearing dark pants, a hoodie, ball cap and boots climbed over the metal security gate shutters and gained access to the store, according to Cpl. Rocky Hebb.

“He used a sledge hammer and busted the glass out,” Hebb said. “This individual then stole a considerable amount of cash and change and left the same way he came in.”

Hebb said he is reviewing security footage of the incident. Anyone with information may contact the sheriff’s department at 304-472-1182 or the crime tip line at 304-473-1001.
