Cars collide in turn on Kesling Mill Road

BUCKHANNON — One woman sustained minor injuries Friday following a two-vehicle wreck that happened at 3:20 p.m. on Kesling Mill Road. Denise Wright, 47, of French Creek, was taken to the hospital by Upshur County EMS after her 2011 Ford Focus was struck by a 2001 Chevy Blazer driven by Donald Gillum, 28, of Buckhannon, according to investigating officer Cpl. Tim Menendez with the Buckhannon detachment of the West Virginia State Police. Gillum was traveling southbound on Kesling Mill Road just north of Triple L Mart, and when he entered a sharp right turn, his vehicle slid across the center line, striking Wright’s vehicle, according to Menendez. Gillum was not injured. In addition to Menendez, the Buckhannon and Ellamore fire departments also responded to the scene. A spokesperson for St. Joseph’s Hospital said Wright had been treated and released.
