Carpenter Ants take the stage at Festival Fridays

BUCKHANNON — The second Festival Fridays was enjoyed by all this past Friday, June 10. It was a beautiful day with all the vendors set up. The Upshur County Farmer’s Market expanded their setup to reach more customers.

During the summer extravaganza of music, food, crafts, fellowship and family fun, presented by Create Buckhannon volunteers, local residents and those traveling from surrounding areas had a blast!

While the Buckhannon-Upshur High School band played last week, R&B Gospel/Soul band “The Carpenter Ants” took the stage and entertained everyone in attendance.

The remaining bands scheduled are as follows:

June 17 – Nic of Tyme (old school)

June 24 – Full Cirkle (classic vinyl)

July 1 – Stonestreet (top 40/variety)

July 8 – Back in the Day (oldies 50s and 60s)

July 15 – B-Sharpe (classic rock/country)

July 22 – Stone Creek (country)

July 29 – Youth Council Night

Aug 5 – Top Shelf (variety)

Aug 12 – Cross Town Traffic (classic rock)

Aug 19 – Soda Pop Gypsies (bluegrass)

Aug 26 – Wilma Cutlip (classic rock/country)

Those interested in joining the team or volunteering can attend a Create Buckhannon meeting at the Opera House on Thursdays at noon or stop by the Create Buckhannon desk, located next to the stage during Festival Fridays. Create Buckhannon spends roughly $15,000 annually to pay bands, buy supplies and create banners.
