Carl K. Crowl, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Crestline, Ohio on Oct. 31, 2020. Born April 1, 1944, he was the youngest child of Arthur and Charlotte Crowl and a native son of Buckhannon. He lived in Buckhannon until joining the Army at the age of 18 in 1962. He served in Texas and Germany.
In August of 1962, he married his wife of 57 years, Janice Lane Crowl, who predeceases him. They raised and are survived by four children: Carl K. Crowl, Jr. (Cathe) of Conway, SC, James Crowl (Lauren) of Lafayette, LA, Christopher Crowl (Sheila) of Galion, OH, and Kimberlee Stewart (Donald) of Georgetown, SC. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Serrine (Gary) of Buckhannon and sister in law Lucille Wilfong. He was fortunate to have grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Arthur and Charlotte Crowl, his brothers, James Crowl, Gene Crowl and Lewis Crowl, and sister, Helen Crowl Suder.
Carl spent many years working in the oil fields and manufacturing facilities. In 1985, he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and spent many years working in Golf Course Maintenance and Golf Course Construction. He enjoyed music, golf, darts and a good joke. In later years, he really grew to love karaoke and spent a lot of time singing and making friends as he never met a stranger.
His family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Kesling Mill Lion’s Club from 1-4 p.m. for anyone who would like to come and share a memory. Those who wish to take part in his love for karaoke are encouraged to join the family at the Starting Line Lounge that same evening.
