CHARLESTON — U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $113,437 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support the National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards and Employee Health Policy Initiatives under the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).
“Our DHHR provide so many important services to the people of West Virginia. It is crucial that we provide support not only for these programs, but also for the hard-working medical professionals that keep our departments running. During the COVID-19 pandemic, so many brave West Virginians have stepped up in many ways to keep our state running and communities safe. I will continue to advocate for the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively,” said Senator Capito.
“West Virginians across our state continue to care for one another during the COVID-19 pandemic, and our DHHR employees work tirelessly to help keep everyone safe on the job. I am pleased West Virginia DHHR is receiving support for their initiatives and will continue advocating for funding that helps our employees work safely,” said Senator Manchin.
