Bucs wins home golf outing against Lincoln, Lewis County and P-B

TENNERTON – Buckhannon-Upshur’s Isaac Lane earned low medalist honors in the Bucs’ first home match of the year at the Buckhannon Country Club on Monday against Lewis County, Lincoln and Philip Barbour.

Lane shot a 41, two-strokes better than teammate Evan Coffman and Lewis County’s Kole Bozic, who each fired a 43.

“I am very proud of Isaac for his achievement which is special,” remarked Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Westfall. “He is really playing well and he is only scratching the surface of his talent. Evan shot another solid round as well. He left a few shots out there he wanted back but he is striking the ball well.”

Lewis County’s Austin Riley and Hunter Heath took fourth and fifth respectively.

Buckhannon-Upshur also won the team title, firing a 185.

Lewis County was second with a 189 and Lincoln was third with a 207.

Philip Barbour did not field a complete team.

Following Lane and Coffman for the Bucs were Brady Hurst with a 49 and Landon Hitt with a 52.

Non-scoring Bucs were Tucker Hurst with a 54 and Brayden Hamner with a 59.

“Landon and Brady, when they realize how talented they are, will hopefully relax and let the game come to them,” said Westfall. “Tucker had a positive day and he is close to breaking into consistent and solid golf. Overall, we are gaining more confidence, however, we need to improve our course management.”

The Bucs will be back in action today at Green Hills against North Marion.

They will return to Bel Meadow Thursday in a tri-match with Lincoln and Lewis County.
