Buckhannon-Upshur High School golf takes second place

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Landon Hitt shoots for par on #4.

FARMINGTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur golf team placed second during a four-team outing on Wednesday. The Bucs finished with a 172 following North Marion who finished with a 165.

B-U had two players in the top individual 5. Evan Coffman and Isaac Lane tied with North Marion’s Dylan Runner for third place with a score of 41.

Buckhannon-Upshur had an eight point lead on third place’s East Fairmont who finished with a 180 and an 18 point lead on Preston who finished last with a 190.

“This was a competitive match with defending conference champs North Marion.  We have been successful against them two times earlier in the season; however, they got us today,” said coach Westfall. Coach also said that Landon Hitt and Tucker Hurst struggled some with the wet conditions, but played very well at the end of the day. Hurst shot a score of 44 and Hitt with a 47.
