PHILIPPI — Broaddus Hospital is honored to announce their wound care center is a recipient of RestorixHealth’s highest achievement, the Wound Center of Excellence Award. Recipients of this prestigious award meet or exceed national wound care quality benchmarks over a set period of time.
The designation distinguishes wound care centers that have demonstrated exceptional success by meeting or exceeding clinical and operational benchmarks in several categories, including healing outcomes, assessment and care processes and patient safety, along with a patient satisfaction rate of 96% or higher.
“We are proud to be recognized for the outstanding care that our staff provides every day,” said Broaddus CEO Dana Gould. “Since opening in 2019 we have worked hard to develop a program that consistently delivers the highest quality of patient care.”
Broaddus Wound Care achieved a Healing Rate of 100%; a Patient Satisfaction Rate of 99.5%; and a Median Days to Heal goal of 28 days.
“In 2021 Broaddus Wound Care received dual awards for Excellence in Clinical Distinction and Excellence in Patient Satisfaction,” added Gould. The Center of Excellence is the highest honor available among the award categories.
Broaddus Wound Care staff includes program director Emily Starks, FNP and Dave Spence, RN. Each has advanced training in wound care medicine and cares for a multitude of slow-to-heal or non-healing wounds including, foot and leg ulcers, surgical wounds, skin grafts and surgical flaps and bone infections.
