Boys’ cross country dominates at Buckhannon-Upshur Invitational


TENNERTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers cross country team hosted the Buckhannon-Upshur Invitational on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, where the Bucs took first place out of seven schools. 

Buckhannon-Upshur junior Jordan Gillum took second place all-around out of 64 runners. Along with Gillum, Jack Waggy and Reis Leonard were in the Individual Top 5. Waggy was the only freshman who placed anywhere within the top 10. 

Logan Wyatt and Brycen Allen’s scores counted toward the team’s top score, giving B-UHS the win. Although not counting toward the team’s all-around, Alex Casto placed 32nd and Rhett Ammons took 38th. 

Non-scoring teams include: South Harrison High School, Trinity Christian High School, Lincoln High School, and Clay-Battelle High School.
