TEMPE, Ariz. — Both West Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams were named as 2021 ITA All-Academic teams, the association announced on Tuesday (July 13). To receive this honor, programs had to achieve a team combined grade point average of 3.20 or better.
Furthermore, 10 tennis players earned Scholar-Athlete recognition for maintaining at least a 3.50 GPA during the academic year.
On the men's side, Haruki Iizuka, Anthony McIntosh, Taylor Papworth, Harry Simaioforidis and Ethan Thomas were recognized as Scholar-Athletes.
Rebecca Osborne, Madison Chen, Julia Pinto, Sai Sakamoto and Hannah Spruce were highlighted as Scholar-Athletes on the women's side.
