BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia Wesleyan baseball team announced its 2021 schedule. All scheduled Mountain East Conference games are to be seven innings in length.
The MEC has divided baseball into north and south divisions. WVWC has been placed in the south division. The top three teams in each division earn a trip to the MEC Tournament held May 13-16 at Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley, W.Va.
WVWC baseball opens the 2021 season at home with a pair of doubleheaders. First against Frostburg State on Saturday, March 20 and another doubleheader versus Fairmont State on Sunday, March 21.
The Bobcats head out on the road for the first time of the season at Wheeling for a twin-bill on Saturday, March 27 before going to West Liberty the following day for two more games against the Hilltoppers on Sunday, March 28.
South division play begins with a pair of doubleheaders at Charleston on April 10 and April 11. The 2021 regular season slate is scheduled to end on the road at nearby Davis & Elkins on Sunday, May 9.
MEC schedules are contingent upon the ability to conduct sports while adhering to state and local guidelines and COVID-19 surveillance testing at each member institution utilizing conference guidelines.
