Boater safety course set

ROANOKE – The WV Natural Resources Police will hold a Boater’s Education Course at the Stonewall Jackson State Park Lodge, Roanoke, WV. The class will be held on June 2, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Students must attend all seven hours of the class and take a 60-question written exam to receive their certification.

In 1998 West Virginia passed legislation that requires any person born after December 31, 1986 to successfully complete an approved Boating Education Course before operating a motorboat or PWC in the State of West Virginia.

The course is open to the public and is free of charge. Any age individual may attend, however only students at least 11 years of age that have passed the test will receive a certificate of completion.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
