BUCKHANNON — Betty Lou Gifford, 81, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at her home. She was born March 21, 1935 in Calhoun Co., a daughter of the late Andy and Mary Kight. On Jan. 9, 1993 she married Paul Gifford who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1997.
In addition to her parents and second husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband Lufawn Denver Husk, one daughter-in-law, Donna Husk; one grandson, Samuel Griffin; one great grandson, Corey Armentrout and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are three daughters, Gertrude Freeman and husband Dennis, Bessie Henneman and husband Paul and Rosetta Griffin and husband Daniel, all of Buckhannon; three sons, Donal and Ronald Husk, both of Ohio, and John Husk, of Buckhannon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Tiny Gardner of Morgantown, and one brother, Bob Kight of Ohio . Mrs. Gifford was a homemaker and a member of The Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. at The Way of Holiness Church. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville.
