In the extra period, Parke racked up her third three-pointer, Maxwell hit a deuce and Callie Lantz had a free throw as Buckhannon outpointed Elkins, 6-4.

“Our mentality for the game with Elkins was to be relentless,” coach Tiffany Board remarked. “The girls were just that – relentless. They never gave up.

“I have to hand it to Elkins. They came in with a game plan for us. We definitely had to adjust defensively.

“It’s great to start off the season with two wins and be the champions of our home opening tournament.”

The Little Lady Bucs will venture to Philippi Tuesday to battle the Lady Bulldogs. They were to have been on the road Monday to meet Taylor County and to visit Mountaineer (Morgantown) Thursday.
