Basketball Little Bucs lose by 10 to Philippi

TENNERTON – Zach Calef-Boring tallied 15 points here last Tuesday night, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Buccaneers from tumbling to Philippi’s Bulldogs by a 37-27 spread in a varsity contest.

Included in his total were a pair of three-point buckets.

The Little Bucs trailed by a 11-9 count after one period, and were down by seven, at 24-17, at halftime.

They were unable to mount a threat in the second half.

Following Calef-Boring in the scoring column were Josh Nesbitt with five points, Ian Donnen with four, and Shawn Blandino with three.

The loss dropped the Little Bucs to 7-5 going into Thursday night’s clash at Lincoln.

They will entertain Washington Irving tonight and Taylor County Wednesday night.
