Barlow tallies five goals in Lady Buc setback to Patriots

TENNERTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur girls lacrosse team dropped an 11-8 decision to George Washington Monday at Freal “Red’ Crites Memorial Stadium.
The Lady Bucs are now 1-3 on the season. They were to have visited Fairmont Senior on Thursday before returing home at 5 p.m. today to face Capital.
Senior Samantha Barlow tallied five goals for B-U, while Iris Kolenich, Megan Long and Tiffany Williams also found the back of the net.
The Lady Patriots, who held a 17-8 edge on shots on goal, were led by Grace Moore’s six goals.
Savannah Green had four saves in goal for the Lady Bucs.
On Saturday, B-U dropped a 9-8 decision to Berekely County in a game played at Harrison County.
Barlow had five goals for the Lady Bucs. Kolenich, Haylee Rice and Williams were also credited with scores.
Green had six stops in goal.
