TENNERTON — The Buckhanon-Upshur Middle School wrestling team hosted a duals tournament, welcoming Mountaineer, North Marion, South Harrison, Taylor County, and Trap Hill middle schools to Tennerton.

As a team the Bucs racked up a combined 58 victories during the tournament, only dropping 12 of their 70 total matches. Jeremy Jett (90-pound division), Josh Thomas (95 pound), Riel Figueroa (110), Brianna Howes (116), Trento Ward (123), and Preston Harris (145) all posted flawless 5-0 records on the day, dominating their competition. Chance Morgan (190) and Matthew Hawkins (HWT) found themselves against very tough opposition in two of the most competitive weight divisions in middle school wrestling, both notching 2-3 marks on the day.

The B-UMS wrestling team will look to continue its hot start when it hits the mat for their next event December 11 when they travel to Braxton County for a dual. The B-UMS wrestlers are sure to be ready to follow up their dominant showing at home during their first road trip of the year.
