B-UMS Volleyball to host summer workouts for prospective players

BUCKHANNON — Head Coach Sheena Westfall and her Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Buccaneers volleyball program is planning a summer workout program for any prospective players entering the sixth, seventh, or eighth-grades. The planned camp is set to begin on Monday, June 13 and run until Friday, June 17. Flex days, in which the coaching staff will be able to dedicate one-on-one time with athletes are scattered around early August, with the flex dates falling between August 1 to 5 and 8 to 10.

In order to attend, a player is responsible for turning in the following paperwork on the opening day of camp:

Current WVSSAC physical (dated after June 1, 2022)

After School permission slip

Medical Consent Form

Fourth Quarter report card

Copy of Birth Certificate (only for incoming sixth graders)

All workouts will be held at the B-UMS gymnasium in Tennerton. Athletes are to report to the side gym doors. As all workouts will be closed, no parents or guardians are allowed to attend.

Coach Westfall stated, “We highly encourage girls interested in trying out next season to attend our summer workout program. However, attendance to workouts do not guarantee a spot on the team. Returning players will not be guaranteed their roster spot. We are entering this year with a clean slate.”

The first day of official B-UMS volleyball tryouts will be held Monday, August 15 right after school from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

If you have any questions about the B-UMS summer workout program, then please contact Coach Westfall at [email protected] or at (732) 598-3857.
