MOATSVILLE — Congratulations to the Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Bucs volleyball team for a great finish to their season. The final score against Kasson Middle School was 2-0 with B-UMS winning the first set 25-3 and the second set 25-7. 

“It was nice to get a win to finish the season. This is a great group of girls! We had our times of struggle throughout the season but overall, we had fun. The varsity middle school team saw their season come to an end with a win over Kasson two sets to zero, ending their season with an overall record of 11-5,” said Coach Sheena Westfall.

Alivia Cogar led in aces with 16, followed by Sophie Lantz with 9, Makenzie Egress and Avery Hamer with 3, and Jayla Westfall and Rebecca Pastorius with 2. The eighth graders were able to get things done on the floor and pass the reigns over to the upcoming group for next year. The Little Lady Bucs dominated at the serving line in both sets, not leaving much more to be done.

Coach Westfall leaves the season proudly with the bittersweet comment, “As coaches, we had fun watching the girls grow and just building relationships with them. It was a great season and great way to end of it. Very thankful these girls were able to find some normalcy with getting to practice every day and get all but two games in, considering not having much of a season last year.”
