B-UMS Cross Country teams earn two top ten finishes at Knight Night Relays

KINGWOOD — The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School cross country teams traveled to Preston County this past Saturday, August 27 to compete in the Knight Night Relays alongside the Buckhannon-Upshur High School Cross Country teams.  

The B-UMS cross country boys team A, consisting of Kenton Stump, Jacob Frye, Jack Loftis, and Brison Hyre earned a spot inside the top ten, taking the tenth spot with a combined time of 41:52.92. Among the four, Stump clocked the fastest lap time at 9:57.30. The Buckhannon-Upshur boys team B, consisting of Bryce Mullens, Aiden Squires, Rease Zirkle and Kash Bishop took a twenty-eighth place finish with a time of 48:08.23. 

In the middle school girl’s cross country action, Morgantown’s South Middle School took the top spot among the sixty-three girls teams competing. The B-UMS girls team A, consisting of Maddie Knabenshue, Lena Rose Walker, Sarah Coffman and Isabella Bowers claimed a spot inside the top ten, finishing in seventh with a combined time of 45:00.25. Knabenshue recorded the fastest lap time among the four, finishing the challenging course in just 10:45.45 to set the mark high for the Little Lady Bucs cross country runners. B-UMS team B consisting of Angelina Winter, Nicole Blandino, Anya Morehead and Chloe Lewis finished just outside of the top ten in eleventh with a combined time of 47:25.94 to wrap up a strong night for the B-UMS cross country teams.
