B-UHS hosts 2021 Homecoming Coronation

BUCKHANNON  Board of Education representatives and many family members gathered with students in the Buckhannon-Upshur High School gymnasium Wednesday afternoon for the presentation and coronation of the 2021 Homecoming Court.

Emcees for the event, Senior Class President Katie Pearson and Senior Class Vice President Caroline Ware, welcomed everyone to the school after the B-UHS Marching Band played two selections from The Wizard of Oz meets the Wiz, arranged by Victor Lopez. The Homecomin Court was presented to the playing of the string orchestra.

The 2021 Homecoming Court is as follows:

Sophomore attendant Sarah Gompers, escorted by sophomore Cory Harris

Sophomore attendant Anna Grace Lantz, escorted by sophomore Bryson Johnson

Junior attendant Malia Bowers, escorted by junior Ian Donnen

Junior attendant Madelyn Frye, escorted by junior Jesse Hackett

Junior attendant Reagan Knabenshue, escorted by junior Hank Phillips

Senior attendant Gaidan Adams, escorted by senior Caden Andrick

Senior attendant Caroline Frye, escorted by senior Donovan Cutlip

Senior attendant Shaylee Hitt, escorted by senior Mauricio Menendez

Queen’s flower girl is Maggie Webb and Queen’s ring bearer is Charlie Donato, escorted by B-UHS cheerleaders Emma Pumphrey (senior) and Dezirae Pugh (junior)

The 2021 B-UHS Homecoming Queen and King were presented to all those in attendance as Queen Cameron Zuliani and King Clayton Ware. Queen Cameron was crowned by her very own football coach Zach Davis. Flowers were presented by flower girl Maggie and Mr. Jonathon Pollock, B- UHS Principal. King Clayton was crowned by Coach Christina Nestor. Each of the voted winners gave closing remarks and reflected on the family support behind them and the friends who have created so many memories throughout their high school journey.

Following the singing of the alma mater, many were recognized before the Court recessed out of the gym.
