B-UHS girls’ cross country team dominates at Braxton Invitational


SUTTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur High School girls’ cross country team traveled to Sutton for the 2021 Braxton Invitational on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Buckhannon-Upshur and Richwood were the only two schools placing for team all-around top scores. B-UHS scored a 22 securing first place and Richwood took second place with a total score of 36.

The Lady Bucs’ Samantha Shreve placed first all-around for the Individual Top 5 with a run time of 22:23.8 and Mia Sappey took second with a time of 22:46.8. The other three positions for the Individual Top 5 honors were placed by runners from other schools.

Jessica Williams, Miah Reger, Malia Bowers, Harlee Gillum, and Brianna Dalton contributed to the total of the team’s overall score, helping Buckhannon-Upshur take the win.
