B-UHS Cheerleaders hosts open house ahead of regional competition

The B-UHS Cheer team showcases their routine ahead of Regionals.

TENNERTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur High School (B-UHS) Varsity Cheerleaders hosted an open house on Wednesday, November 2, at 7 p.m. The team performed their 2022 cheer routine for the community at the B-UHS gymnasium ahead of their performance today, Saturday, November 5. 

B-UHS Varsity Cheerleaders performed their routine for the community in the B-UHS gymnasium to show off their skills for Regionals alongside coaches Christina Nestor, Shelley Trader, and Judy Skinner. B-UHS Varsity Cheerleaders are Class AAA and as part of Region I will compete today at 10 a.m. at East Fairmont High School. B-UHS will also compete alongside University, Preston, Bridgeport, Brooke, John Marshall, Wheeling Park and Morgantown cheer teams. 

The Interscholastic on WVSSAC’s webpage notes that “In each region, schools are listed by order of performance.” The Interscholastic also provides a comprehensive list of other regions and upcoming State Competition details, which are outlined below.

The state tournament is slated to take place on Saturday, December 10 at the Marshall University Cam Henderson Center. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.
