B-UHS Cheer to hold open house ahead of regional competition

The 2021-2022 Buckhannon-Upshur Cheerleading Team

TENNERTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur cheerleading team is poised to have a huge month of November, with the upcoming regional cheerleading competition, hosted by East Fairmont High School, on Saturday, November 5 at 10 a.m. and the Big 10 Conference competition, hosted by Lincoln High School, set for Thursday, November 10 at 6 p.m. With competition season right around the corner, Christina Nestor and her staff have been hard at work with their team, fundraising and cheering for the Buccaneers Football team, all the while fine-tuning and perfecting this year’s routine down to the last detail.

With the moment these young ladies have trained for these past few months drawing ever closer with each day and seeking an opportunity to give folks a glimpse at what they have in store for the competition judges, the Buckhannon-Upshur cheerleading team would like to invite the community to watch them perform their routine this coming Wednesday, November 2 at 7 p.m. ahead of the regional competition.

Coach Nestor spoke for her team, expressing gratitude for the support they have received from the community saying, “The cheerleaders would like to thank our community for their support and most of all our parents.  The cheerleaders have been working toward new uniforms to be worn at open house and our competitions.  The uniforms have some old school color with a modern flair.”

Nestor continued, complimenting her team on their overall growth, saying, “As their coach, I am really proud of them and how far they have come. This team has a great solid base and improving every day! I am really excited to see what they can achieve with this routine!”
