#23 Junior Forward
Currence earned Athlete of the Week honors after a strong junior campaign for head coach Rob Kittle’s varsity girls basketball team.
Currence played a huge role in the Lady Bucs overwhelming successful 17-5 regular season. When her team needed her the most, in a “win-or-go home” game against a resilient Bridgeport Indians squad, Currence answered the call in a major way.
Against Bridgeport, Currence posted 18 points, 9 rebounds and 1 block; narrowly missing out on a double-double. Currence teamed with freshman standout Alyssa Abel to form a potent “1-2 punch” on offense that the Indians couldn’t seemed to find an answer for defensively.
