Senior, Wrestler Luke Bohnsack

The senior wrestler has put together an outstanding 2021-22 season representing Buckhannon-Upshur High School on the mat. His competitive spirit and never quit, never back down mentality has allowed him to grow into the wrestler he is today. Bohnsack is one of head coach Jacob Orr’s most versatile athletes, wrestling in both the 152 and 160-weight classifications. While he usually competes in the 152-weight clas-sification, Bohnsack has shown the ability to jump up a weight class and find success. In his last two meets, Bohnsack finished with 3-1 and 1-1 records respectively. First, Bohnsack wrestling in the 152-weight division, compiled a 3-1 record at the Frank Ferguson Brooke Classic, taking ninth place overall. He followed that strong outing with another in a tri-dual with University and Morgantown. During the tri-dual, Luke Bohnsack posted a 1-1 record, highlighted by a takedown and a reversal on his way to chipping in 4 team points. In the meet, Bohn-sack won by major decision over Hagedorn from University and lost to Thompson from Morgantown. In his last season representing B-UHS on the mat, Bohnsack isn’t leaving anything in reserve. As he prepares for the final stretch of his senior season, Bohnsack has put himself in good position to compete at states this year should he maintain this level of success against quality opposition.
