Award winning recording duo Davis Bradley set to perform at French Creek UMC

FRENCH CREEK  – Kathy Davis and Bradley Bishop, award-winning recording artists, will be performing Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2019, beginning at 3  p.m. at the French Creek United Methodist Church, church officials have announced.

Kathy Davis and Bradley Bishop, known professionally in the music circles as Davis Bradley, have teamed up to present a one of a kind gospel music experience which is exciting, entertaining, and offers something for everyone. The ground-breaking pair have drawn from their individual bluegrass, old time, and gospel music influences to create something magical, while remaining true to the roots of the music they love – gospel music.

Kathy Davis performs on mandolin, guitar, and bass while lending smooth lead and harmony vocals. A West Virginia native, Davis grew up in the small Mineral County town of Short Gap.  Today, she currently resides in Linden, Virginia, with her family.

“Music has always been a part of my life,” said Davis.

“My father was the first to influence my love for music when I was very young.”

Davis got her start performing with her family’s band for several years. During this time, she embraced every opportunity to connect to the audience through sharing the love of music from deep within. She is passionate about her gospel music which stands out in her smooth singing and pioneering mandolin playing.

Brad Bishop performs on the banjo, guitar, bass, harmonica, clawhammer banjo, and adds lead and harmony vocals to the pair. He makes his home in Bowling Green, Virginia.

“Music has always been a passion in my life,” Bishop stated.

“I truly enjoy a variety of musical styles and genres.”

Bishop has performed with many popular bands through the years and has become a much sought after solo performer. He has been recognized for his creative songwriting, while building a reputation as a smooth lead and harmony vocalist, as well as a talented multi-instrumentalist.

Together, Kathy Davis and Bradley Bishop are excited to combine their talents and do what they love, and that is to sing gospel music. It’s a life-tradition which is as much of who they are as what they do.

“We invite everyone from our community to come out and join us as we worship our Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and song with Davis Bradley,” said Nancy Killingsworth, the church pastor.

“This will be such a special music, praise and worship service that no one will want to miss.”

“There is no cost for admission to this performance, however a love offering will be collected to offset the expenses that these two have incurred to minister to us in word and song,” Killingsworth added.
