Area mothers share favorite memories, cherished traditions

BUCKHANNONThe Record Delta extends a warm greeting to all mothers and wishes you a wonderful Mother’s Day! In honoring mothers, The Record Delta reached out to moms in the immediate and surround area for quotes and more regarding their Mother’s Day memories and traditions.

Ashley Wilson McClain, of Bridgeport, shared, “My favorite tradition is that I wear the same dress every year and get pictures with my boys at the VA park the weekend of Mother’s Day.”

Buckhannon’s Tabatha Perry shared, “I love seeing the excitement on our girls’ faces when they present me with gifts they made at school. From handprints to planting of small flowers. It warms my heart to feel extra special and share in that excitement with them.” Perry continued, “Traditionally on Mother’s Day, my husband and kids make a special breakfast and then we treat my mom to dinner.”

Also from Buckhannon is Alison Jane Bragg, who will be celebrating her first Mother’s Day this year with daughter, Valerie Jane. Bragg was the first baby of the New Year 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Bragg stated, “With this being my first Mother’s Day, I am reminded of how thankful I am to be a mother and experience such a special kind of love with my daughter. I am grateful to have a mother who possess all the qualities of what a parent should be. I hope to be half the mother she is to me. Happy Mother’s Day!”
