Annual Prayer Walk set for Sept. 15

Several churches in our area have been organizing an annual Prayer Walk since 2012.  The 8th Annual Prayer Walk for Upshur County will be held on September 15 from 3 to 5 p.m. This walk will begin at the City Park at 3 p.m. and continue down Kanawha Street, cross at the intersection onto Main Street, and end at the Upshur County Courthouse at 3:45 p.m.

A brief service is planned at Courthouse Plaza, giving all those involved the opportunity to gather for prayer over our county and country. There will be praise and worship music at the Courthouse as well.

Our Prayer Walk movement is “God Belongs In Our Country”.  “God Belongs in Our City” is a national movement in statement of faith. We have decided not to limit it to our city, but rather to include the entire country. Our vision is to see all county churches and believers come under one banner and pray for our county and for those with leadership roles.

Please mark this date on your calendar and plan to attend. God truly belongs in our hearts, our lives, and our county and country.

Pastor J. Edward McDaniels
