An “icy” way to give back

BUCKHANNON — Mountaineer Concessions Company (MCC) (shaved ice and concessions) will be hosting a fundraising event in co-operation with Aaron’s rental located at 39 Clarksburg Road in Buckhannon. The event will take place from July 8 to 10, 2022 beginning at noon and concluding at 8 p.m.

MCC will be selling snow cones in order to donate the proceeds back to the Children’s Miracle Network. George (Pa’ppe) Hand and his grandsons started this fundraiser in order to give back to the organization that they highly support.

According to, “More than 10 million kids enter a children’s hospital like WVU Medicine Children’s across North America every year. To provide the best care for kids, children’s hospitals rely on donations and community support, as Medicaid and insurance programs do not fully cover the cost of care. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has helped fill those funding gaps by raising more than $7 billion, most of it $1 at a time through Miracle Balloon icon campaigns. Its various fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit’s mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.”

Mountaineer Concessions Company’s mission is to create and serve delicious cool refreshing treats; Shaved ice the Mountain State will enjoy! While producing memorable events for families to enjoy together. The company states, “We produce the best experience in the Mountain State. The coolest, most refreshing frozen drink/treats/shaved ice for all. We love to serve our community and sponsoring charitable causes. Giving back to society is a large part of reason why we opened our business. Producing the finest treats with the finest ingredients that’s the only way. Our customers deserve nothing but the best product at the best price.”
