Alayna Whitehair runs fifth at Barbour County Skirmish for cross country Lady Bucs

PHILIPPI – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc cross country team took a partial squad to Friday’s Barbour County Skirmish at Philip Barbour High School.

B-U’s Alayna Whitehair had a top five finish as she finished fifth with a time of 25:35.

Jenny Williams took 14th for the Lady Bucs with a time of 30:59 while Leah Crihfield was 19th with a clocking of 35:52 and Ryanna Hines was 23rd with a time of 41:22.

Abigail Auvil of Philip Barbour won the individual title with a time of 24:48 while Erin Chambers of Tucker County was second running a 24:58.

Philip Barbour’s Olivia Frye was third with a time of 25:16 and teammate Jaycee Everson was fourth with a time of 25:30.

Only two full squads competed as Philip Barbour won the event with 19 points while Tucker County took second with 43.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Saturday at the Forest Festival Invitational at Davis & Elkins.
