Agnes Romayne Leeson, age 82, died Friday, October 23, 2020, at the Holbrook Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident for the past several years.
She was born on June 13, 1938, in Oakland, MD, a daughter of the late Percy and Josephine Sines Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Robert O. Leeson in November 2004, and one sister Patricia F. Lewis.
She is survived by three daughters: Stephanie J. and husband Richard Rumpke of Indianapolis, IN, Roberta J. and husband Robert Lynch of Buckhannon, and Patricia Leeson Scriba and significant other Keith Wesselman of Baltimore, MD; one stepdaughter, Carla L. Leeson of El Paso, TX; nine grandchildren: Jason and Casie Wannstedt, Elizabeth Knox, Robbie Martin and wife Alicia, Patrick and Carli Martin, Jacob Muncy, and H.D. and Brock Scriba; and five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Leeson was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration in Buckhannon and had worked as a legal secretary for Rexroad and Rexroad, in the College Relations Office of West Virginia Wesleyan College, and in the WVU Foundation office.
In her spare time, she also wrote a recipe column for The Record Delta entitled, For Ladies Only. She loved reading, cooking, and was an avid political follower and participant. Coca-Cola was her favorite drink and she had a tremendous sweet tooth, especially for Mounds bars and Reese’s cups.
At the request of the deceased, her body will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
