Acro & Tumbling Team takes second at FSU tri-meet


FAIRMONT – The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcat Acro & Tumbling team split a tri-meet at Fairmont State’s Joe Retton Arena Saturday afternoon.

Fairmont State won the event with 278.680 points while Wesleyan took second with 246.750 points.

Davis & Elkins placed third with 236.025 points.

Wesleyan took second in all four compulsory events, falling to Fairmont State but beating Davis & Elkins.

Wesleyan scored a 7.35 in the acro heat, a 9.25 in the pyramid heat, a 9.40 in the toss heat and a 7.35 in the tumbling heat.

Fairmont State had a compulsory total of 38.85 while Wesleyan compiled a 33.35 and Davis & Elkins a 28.75.

Wesleyan placed second in all three acro events as well, earning a 9.25 in heat one, an 8.95 in heat two and an 8.60 in heat three.

Fairmont State scored a total of 29.60 in the acro while Wesleyan scored 26.80 and Davis & Elkins had a total of 25.50.

Wesleyan came up third in the pyramid overall with a 26.40.

They scored a 9.55 in heat one (inversion), an 8.95 in heat two (synchronized) and a 7.90 in heat three (open).

Fairmont State scored 29.55 while Davis & Elkins tallied a 27.90.

At the intermission, Fairmont State led with 98.00 points while Wesleyan was second with 86.55 and D&E was third with 82.15.

Wesleyan took second in the toss with a total score of 26.30.

They scored a 8.70 in heat one (450 Salto), an 8.60 in heat two (Synchronized) and a 9.00 in heat three (open).

Fairmont State owned a 28.00 while Davis & Elkins compiled a 25.90.

Wesleyan took runner-up honors in tumbling as well with 50.650 points.

They scored an 8.75 in the duo pass, a 8.15 in the trio pass, an 8.50 in the quad pass, a 9.10 in the aerial pass, a 9.225 in the 6 element pass and an 8.425 in the open pass.

Fairmont State tallied a 56.00 while Davis & Elkins scored a 46.175.

Fairmont State scored a 96.68 in the team total event while Wesleyan scored an 83.25 and Davis & Elkins an 81.90.

The tri-meet, the regular-season finale for the Lady ‘Cats, left Wesleyan with a 3-5 record overall.

They will now prepare for the Mountain East Conference championships on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
