BUCKHANNON — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for stealing a vehicle from Mike Ross.

The white 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported missing on Friday to the Buckhannon Police Department.

Ross, the vehicle’s owner, discovered the theft Friday afternoon from his Morton Avenue location.

“It was inside the building, so they had to get the garage door open some way,” he said. “The key was in the console and they backed out.”

Ross said the Jeep Grand Cherokee didn’t have many miles on it as he drives his truck normally.

“It was a personal vehicle,” he said. “It was a good jeep.”

Although Ross said he has had thefts at his coal mines and even a theft of timber, this is the first theft at his office location.

“I’ve been here a long time and never suffered any theft at all,” he said.

Ross hopes that the enticement of a $5,000 reward will bring forth information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible like the coal mine and timber thefts.

Anyone with information is asked to call the BPD at 304-472-5723, the tip line at 304-473-1001 or leave a tip at www.buckhannonpolice.com. Ross also said people can call his office at 304-472-4289.
