BUCKHANNON — As the 79th Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival draws closer and closer, the 2021 Junior Royalty Revue contestants competed for their titles. On April 17, Queen Elect Caylie Simmons and Teen Queen Madison Stellato were crowned as WVSF Royalty for the 2021 celebration. On Saturday, the Junior Royalty Court was announced.
The Junior Royalty Revue pageant took place at the Way of Holiness Church, and included separate age groups of: 4-5 boys, 4-5 girls, 6-7 girls, 8-9 boys, 8-9 girls, 10-11 girls, and the junior “Queen” division. The phases of competition included an opening number in which contestants sported trendy, strawberry-inspired outfits. Following, contestants competed in formal wear. For the Queen division, eight young ladies underwent a private interview with judges. Although the pageant was filled with talent and enthusiasm, only seven crowns could be awarded.
In the 4-5 Girls division, Avery Glaspell was named Princess. Brynn Smith was named 1st Maid, and Jayleeigh McCune was named 2nd Maid as well as Most Photogenic.
In the 4-5 Boys division, Foster Crews was named Prince and Most Photogenic. Keaton Hilliard won the Spirit Award and 1st Page.
In the 6-7 Girls division, Ava Beth Hinkle was named Princess. Tegwin Louise McMillian was named 1st Maid and Most Photogenic. Harper Crews was named 2nd Maid.
In the 8-9 Girls division, Alexis Terranova was named Princess. Karly Hilliard was named 1st Maid, and Madison Cutright was named 2nd Maid and Most Photogenic.
In the 8-9 Boys division, Cooper Crews was named Prince and Most Photogenic.
In the 10-11 Girls division, Tatum Hulver was named Princess and Most Photogenic. Liliana Delaney was named 1st Maid and Taylor Lynch was named 2nd Maid.
In the Queen division, Madison Burnside was named 2021 WV Strawberry Festival Junior Royalty Queen and Most Photogenic. Reagan Sisk was named 1st Maid and Isabella Kelley was named 2nd Maid.
Judges were faced with many hard decisions, as all contestants were special and excited about the Strawberry Festival. The 2021 Junior Royalty Court will spend their year-long reign representing the WV Strawberry Festival at fairs and festivals around the state, as well as celebrating their favorite festival here in Buckhannon in a few short weeks.
